Brian Baker
Brian focuses on data aggregation, search, and open source technologies. He is a
seasoned entrepreneur that has over 20 years of experience creating and delivering
enterprise software solutions. Previously, he served as a principal engineer at
United Devices which was acquired by Univa. Prior to that, Brian founded Journee
Software (acquired by Initiate Systems) and played a lead role in architecting a
transactional, real-time enterprise data hub solution. He is a utility player with
broad experience across data aggregation (EAI/ETL), virtualization, grid computing,
and analytics domains. Brian has worked in technical roles across every functional
area including core development, product management, sales engineering, professional
services, and customer support. Finally, he has extensive experience converting
pure-proprietary solutions into mixed proprietary / open source solutions.
Zahid Ghauri
Zahid leads sales engineering, has extensive systems management experience, and
has worked with virtualization technology for over 8 years. Most recently, he was
the Manager of Global Technical Enablement at Sun Microsystems supporting Identity
Management sales worldwide with virtualization-based demonstration platforms. Prior
to Sun, Zahid was a Director of Systems Engineering at SupportSoft, the market leader
in support automation software, where he was responsible for technical sales for
the Eastern United States and EMEA. Before joining SupportSoft, he worked extensively
in the Enterprise Systems Management space as a Principal Systems Engineer for Tivoli
Systems, the multi-billion dollar management software division of IBM, and Focal
Point Software, a solutions provider for BMC Software’s Performance Assurance products.
Zahid graduated with an MSCS from the University of Houston and a BSCS from the
University of Texas at Austin.
Andrew Kutz
Andrew is an industry recognized virtualization expert who is focusing on product
creation and research and development. He is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer,
a SANS/GIAC certified Windows Security Administrator, and a VMware Certified Professional
who has been involved in the industry for over 11 years. And he was recently awarded the
VMware vExpert distinction for 2009. Considered an innovator in VMware plug-in creation,
Andrew has created such favorites as the SVMotion, Search, Invoke, Console and
AddPortGroups plug-ins. Prior to joining Hyper9, Andrew was the lead application architect
for the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. His virtualization
expertise was put to good use as an analyst for the Burton Group, and he continues to
write for TechTarget magazine, where he is listed as one of the publication's "Virtualization
Pros." Andrew graduated with a bachelor degree in Ancient History and Classical Civilization
from the University of Texas at Austin.
David Marshall
David is an industry recognized virtualization expert who focuses on product marketing
and community development. He has been in the industry for over 15 years and has
been a virtualization industry advocate for the past 9 years. VMware recently named him
a VMware vExpert for 2009. Prior to joining Hyper9, David was a Senior Architect at Surgient
and a Deployment Manager at ProTier where he was responsible for creating and implementing
a number of complex solutions for a number of Fortune 1000 clients. Before joining ProTier,
he enjoyed a very successful 7-year career working in and managing a number of departments
within BankOne. David is a co-author of two popular virtualization books, Advanced Server
Virtualization: VMware and Microsoft Platforms in the Virtual Data Center, and VMware ESX
Essentials in the Virtual Data Center. And he is the author of numerous articles for a number
of well known technical magazines. He founded the virtualization news site,
VMblog.com, and authors the InfoWorld
Magazine Virtualization Report. He has also appeared on a number of conference panels
focused on the subject of virtualization. David graduated with a bachelor's degree
in Finance and an Information Technology Certification from the University of New
Orleans.
